my review on self proclaimed canucks fans.
ok, so now that the playoffs are well on their way, i have noticed something that boggles my mind.
the "fans"
but should i use the word "fan?"
wouldn't you have to have a little bit of knowledge about the thing to be a fan of it?
i bet if you asked the people with the ridiculous flags attached to their cars to name one player on the Canucks the majority wouldn't be able to name one. (and Roberto Luongo or Trevor Linden don't count! someone who has slept through the playoffs would even be able to mention them.)
or if you would ask those people to explain the term "off side" they would give you the same blank stare with a following remark of it being, "a hit from the side, and that Bertuzzi had a good one last night."
so why all the excitement for the game most do not even know?
is it the Desire to hang out at the local bar with a bunch of unattractive screaming men with their faces painted and there ancient orange and yellow jerseys which hardly cover their sweat covered hairy guts?
or is it just a character they like to play of the "sports know it all, but really don't know the difference between a puck and baseball"
it is something that i have noticed and wonder.
